Along the banks of the Fraser River in Ruskin, B.C., a small cedar mill launched what
would become the Waldun Group—three mills working as one to elevate Western Red
Cedar. Years later, Outdoor Living Today (OLT) joined the Waldun family, bringing a
shared belief to the table: do right by the wood, by the people who work it, and by the
customers who trust it.
Western Red Cedar is more than a material to us. Long regarded by many Indigenous
peoples of the Pacific Northwest as the “Tree of Life,” cedar has sheltered and supported
communities for generations.
We honor that legacy by sourcing responsibly, minimizing waste, and using our craft to
reveal the beauty already in the wood.
At Waldun, that means turning end pieces that might otherwise be discarded, into
premium shakes and shingles. At OLT, it means precision-cut, pre-assembled kits that
everyday builders can put together with confidence.
We’re local makers at heart. Our products are built here in North America by people
